About

Critical Rewind seeks to illuminate current and past films by delving into their artistic worlds.

Like all forms of art, film consists of multiple layers. Even the medium of film itself is composed of many integral parts – story, dialogue, cinematography, music, acting, etc.

When the pieces of a film work together effectively, it creates a springboard for thought. What could a film be trying to say about humanity, society, the universe, or any other big artistic theme?

We believe that films are important artistic texts, deserving careful, in-depth analysis. We strive to offer detailed, thoughtful examinations of the films that make us think.
